It's mid march, very bright, but still a little cold. Join me on an excursion to the lake! It's sunny and fresh, fresh!!
As we start we pass by the Mattamy Center ( formerly Maple Leaf Gardens) at Church and Carleton and a brand new condo tower that curves with the wind!
Next we pass Ryerson College.
There are many modern buildings housing the school throughout the downtown core.
This one houses the students-
smart looking modern style building
with very strong simple geometry.
Church buildings behind the cathedral spire
dazzling in the sunshine against the towers
piercing the boldest blue sky!
This is ST. Michael's Cathedral,
A strong contrast against the towers with it's fine detailing and lot's of ornamentation!
Great graffiti wall on the United Church grounds across the street from the Roman Catholic Church!
We pass by the Metropolitan United Church at Queen Street,
so celebratory as the brick has recently been cleaned.
Before it was all black and I never knew the brick was yellow- a real WOW factor now!
Next is the St. James Cathedral at King Street, just a few more blocks south.
All three churches are like beautiful ladies in their finest jewelry
and embroidered gowns standing tall for all to admire!
Crossing Front Street we see the Flat Iron Building,
always a favourite!
We pass the St. Lawrence Market
as we make our way to Jarvis and tour down to the lake!
The CN Tower peeks through
many different shapes of glittering steel and glass!
We're almost there!
This tower boasts putting the balconies
perpendicular, jutting out from the building to get more space-
if you want to hang out on your balcony!!
We have arrived!!
Strong architecture leading us to our destination!
At last! Tranquil, bright, spacious,
And chilly in the wind!!
But it's worth it!
The island beckons in the distance!
No way across here!
This is at King street and you can see
St. James Cathedral in the background.
