Let's bike down to the Distillery District

Traveling east from Church Streeet on Gerrard,

  we pass by Allen Gardens

and this old church, gargoyles and all!

It contrasts greatly with the towers behind,

including the Aura Tower a few blocks in the distance.

Elegant Victorians are scattered along the way.

We turn right (south) onto Sherbourne.

Beautiful churches are seen like

All Saints Church- Community Center

At Dundas Street.

Typical Toronto town houses

and new transit cars

with the towers in the background.

Looking down the streets

you see old and new

harmonizing against the blue skies!

Beautiful graphics

adorn some of the buildings.

We are now going east to parliament to get to our destination.

One of the old buildings was transformed into

police headquarters, at Parliament and King.

At last!

We arrive at the Distillery District!

It feels like the turn of the 20th century

until you turn around and look up!

Not very many people here,

there are still restrictions

but you can grab take out

at the coffee shop and the restaurants.

Let's go to Cork Town!

Nice view of the downtown from this new park!

Of course!

Everything is new here!

But that building looks like it

got blown apart!

Must be the new style!

It's another new park

with sculpture, places to gather or sit

with a another beautiful view

of the downtown in the distance!

A few old buildings that had remained

from before development are being refurbished.

On the way back we pass

some of the oldest workman's cottages in the city!

There is Toronto's history scattered throughout the city

often surrounded by newer taller buildings!

At Sherbourne and Queen

we find a string of old buildings!

Further north on Sherbourne we see the city

through an empty lot that might have held some nice Victorian homes.

Here's one getting the squeeze

 from modern day constructions!

And we're back at the Gardens!

Hope you enjoyed the trip!

These pics are just a taste of what you'd see

if you decide to bike on this excursion!
