Lets take a tour through this astounding building!
So celebratory her appearance now, as she is awash in golden hues since her makeover!
Let's see how this beauty embraces the 21st century while she keeps her Victorian pride!
Incredible library shows off art
and the structure of the new addition to the grand old Victorian Lady!
The periodical section shows the old charm. The modern chairs cozy up to the old brick walls.
Let's catch up on what is in vogue these days!
Secret staircase leading past grand old leaded glass windows to new heights!
How many whispers have these steps witnessed in the past years?
How many secrets?
Much work.... and play, I'm sure,
has been accomplished here!
The best designs are dreamed!
On the main floor you can overlook one of the workshops that has a bionic arm to assist in design.
Or you can relax in another little nook nearby to catch up.
Tucked in the corner of a hallway there is a narrow door to yet a narrower staircase leading to this landing that views the lecture hall to the left and looking up we see the skylights peaking through a ceiling of clouds floating over the main studio. The impressionists would be jealous!
Let's climb to the top and have a look!
From the other side of the stairs we see how spectacular this ceiling is. It looks light as clouds and appears to be wind driven across the room!
The light is from the north and is diffused perfectly for creativity to shine!
They kept this grand old stair case that leads to more rooms upstairs in the old part.
Ain't she a beauty!
Up in the eves we find classrooms with the old rafters on display.
Absolutely gorgeous!
From her vantage point she looks south over the city, keeping watch over the street cars that run along their silvery streams, cutting through China Town and running all the way to the CN Tower.
Oh, to break from this foundation and run free down to the lake!
One last look at the beautiful view of the downtown!
One last look at her beautiful face!
Till we meet again at another Open Doors event!
Of course the library is open to the public during the school year!
Wonderful!
